HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council is set to approve the memorandum of understanding between the city and SEIU local 513, representing 125 of its workers, on Tuesday.
According to Human Resources director Tom Sanders, the two areas where there were changes were after hours callback pay starting after 5 p.m. and having holiday callback pay fall on the actual holiday, rather than any observed days for a holiday.
This issue came to the forefront this past year, with Christmas and New Year's both falling on the weekend.
A proposal by the city to change work schedule and hours that had been a sticking point with the union was withdrawn. The union approved the MOU last week.
