HUTCHINSON, Kan.—Maize South came into the Salthawk Activity Center and two games from Hutch and made it look easy. Maize South Girls pulled away in the 4th quarter after leading 26-15 at the end of the 3rd period to win 41-31.  Back to back 3 pointers by Riley Kennedy opened up the inside for Maize South in the 4th period then the inside play of Lowe plus free throws closed the door on the Salthawks.

In the Boys game, Hutchinson was really never in it by trailing 36-18 at the half and down 14 going into the 4th quarter.  Hutchinson cut it to 8 midway through the 4th quarter, but missed opportunities off offensive rebounds and missed free throws did the Salthawks in as Maize South end up winning 59-45.

Myles Thompson led Hutchinson with 19 points. Parker Scott let Maize South with 24 points including 20 in the first half.

Hutchinson travels to Great Bend on Friday night to take on the Great Bend Panthers before participating in the TOC in Dodge next week.
