DODGE CITY, Kan. — Hutchinson (13-5, 9-3) extended its winning streak to seven games after defeating Dodge City (6-12, 3-9) Saturday afternoon.
The Dragons used a 19-4 run in the second half to build a 10-point advantage before the Conquistadors made things interesting in the final six minutes.
Dodge City pulled back within three with 30 seconds left and Hutchinson turned the ball over.
The Conqs took a timeout to draw up the perfect inbound play. Two defenders covered the corner three as Keshawn Brown Junior was left wide open for a layup under the hoop.
Dodge City cut the lead to one and the Conquistadors were forced to put the Dragons on the line.
Bo Aldridge hit both free throws to put Hutchinson back up three.
Mynor Strong missed a three-point opportunity for Dodge City and DJ Dudley iced the game at the line.

Three Dragons scored in double figures, led by Aldridge. He finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.
Two other Dragons just missed out on double-doubles as Dudley dropped 15 points and pulled down nine boards. Isaiah Jackson had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Derrick Rivers led Dodge City with 21 points and nine rebounds.
Hutchinson returns home Jan. 22 for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff with Barton.
