
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The number of positive cases of COVID continues to hang just below the 500 mark. And although the area has seen a small increase in cases since Christmas the increase is not as large as the one that occurred during the Thanksgiving holiday.
As of Thursday evening, the positive case count in the county is 491 with 485 active in the community. That compares with a low since Thanksgiving of 442 on January 4th.
On Thanksgiving day, the number of positive cases in the county was 1,066 which quickly jumped to 1,513 by November 29. The number of cases then fell by more than 1,100 by January 4th.
The death toll from the pandemic stands at 111, with 7,100 positive cases and 6,498 recoveries.
