Full job description

Job Overview:

The Media Manager is responsible for generating engaging content for the Hutchinson Art Center’s online platforms. The Media Manager should be comfortable navigating the internet and using online tools and software such as Google Workspace, Facebook, Instagram, Squarespace, MailChimp, Canva, and CapCut, as well as being willing to learn new software as technology evolves.

The Media Manager should also be able to work well on a small team and communicate effectively within that team and with the board of directors. In addition to addressing questions and concerns sent to the Art Center via social media messaging, the Media Manager should also be comfortable answering the phone, sending and replying to emails, and processing sales at the Art Center‘s front desk. The Media Manager may be asked to work outside of usual hours to prepare and/or cover special events.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Create photographs, videos, and graphics for social media, on-site digital displays, brochures, and an email newsletter which should all be published regularly according to the Art Center’s schedule.
  2. Maintain the Art Center’s website and make sure web pages and online calendar are kept up to date.
  3. Stay updated on relevant social media trends and help keep our contact lists up to date.
  4. Process membership payments, donations, and purchases made in the Art Center and answer visitor questions while operating the front desk.
  5. Reply to general emails, Instagram messages, and Facebook messages concerning exhibits and events.
  6. The Media Manager may be asked to help operate the front desk outside of usual hours for special events at the Art Center (opening receptions, closing receptions, classes, rental events, etc.).
  7. Assist with the general cleaning and tidying of the Art Center as well as occasionally co-curate and hang exhibits.

Qualifications are:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Required)
  3. Marketing & Graphic design skills (Preferred)

Schedule:

  1. Thursday morning (9:00 AM to 1:00 PM)
  2. Friday all-day (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
  3. Saturday all-day (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
  4. May be asked to work outside of usual hours to prepare and/or cover special events

Job location: In-person

Ability to commute/relocate:

  1. Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
