SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two different solar topics are on the Reno County Planning Commission's agenda for their meeting on Thursday.
The first is a zoning case with Ark Valley Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. for a conditional use permit to establish a limited scale commercial solar energy system on land zoned AG – Agricultural District. The property is approximately 7.89 acres of land located on the south side of E. 95th Ave., approximately 2,000 feet west of N. Halstead St.
The planning commission will allow comments on that item only.
Then the planning commission will have discussion with possible action on creating Article 26 of the Reno County Zoning Regulations to regulate Commercial Solar Energy Systems.
A reminder, the planning commission can only regulate in areas of the county that are zoned.
The Reno County Planning Commission meets Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Reno County Public Works Facility at 600 Scott Boulevard in South Hutchinson.
