James D. Dix |1942-2022|

James D. Dix, 79, died January 30, 2022, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.  He was born March 21, 1942, in Wichita, to Phillip S. and Nina M. (Revo) Dix. 

James was raised on a farm in the Burdick area, and graduated from Centre High School, Lost Springs, in 1961.  He lived in Herington, before moving to Hutchinson in 2003.  James completed seven years in the Army Reserves, retiring as a First Sergeant.  He retired after 35 years of services from Union Pacific Railroad, as a engineer.  James was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineer.

On December 14, 1964, he married Lynda Lou Hill, in Abilene.  She died September 27, 2019, after sharing 55 years of marriage.

James is survived by daughter, Deanna “Dea” Dix-Brown (Gary) of Pratt.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; brothers, Richard, Warren, Max, and Don; and sisters, Dorothy Hagnauer and Phyllis Cirjak.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington, with Pastor Jeanine I. Rishel officiating.  Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
