
The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Flood Watch for Portions of Central, South Central, and Southeast Kansas beginning Friday evening and stretching through Sunday afternoon.
Occasional showers and thunderstorms will dominate the weekend. Some thunderstorms that will contain very heavy rain will be likely during the watch time. As much as 2 to 4 inches of rain will be possible during this time.
Low land and flood prone areas will likely flood first. Areas adjacent to these areas will also be at risk.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
