A High Wind Warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday.

North to northwest winds 30 to 35 mph with gusts to  around 58 mph are expected in portions of Central and South Central Kansas until 7 p.m. this evening.

Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines.

  Some power outages can be expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
