HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Just before 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Hutchinson Fire crews responded to a structure fire in a detached shop in the alley between 17th Street and 18th Street at 1711 Tyler.
Fire was showing through the roof and heavy smoke showing from the garage when firefighters arrived. Fire crews made a fast knock down of the fire and contained most of the damage to the west side of the garage.
A wood stove was the cause of the fire.
The fire department is asking the public to please get your furnaces, wood stoves, and chimneys checked and cleaned for the winter.
