Housing commission to discuss discrimination policy Wednesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson Housing Commission will address changes made by the state in housing discrimination policy as part of its agenda on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. on Zoom.

As a result of a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, a guidance document will be forthcoming from the state's Human Rights Commission that the Kansas Act Against Discrimination’s employment, housing, and public accommodation anti-discrimination provisions for “sex” are inclusive of LGBTQ and all derivates of “sex”.

Also on the agenda is a featured neighborhood report from Adam Stewart, an update on the CDBG Grant for the Creekside neighborhood an update on code enforcement and an update on COVID-19 and its effect on housing issues.
