TECUMSEH, Kan.—The Hutchinson High School Girls' basketball advanced to the semi-final games at the Shawnee Heights Thunderbird Classic on Thursday night with a 48-23 win over Shawnee Mission North High.
Hutch got off to a slow start trailing 7 to 6 afther the first quarter of play. Hutch then went on a 15-3 run to close out the first half with a 21-10 lead at intermission.
The Salthawks were led in scoring by senior guard Josie McClean with 17. Grace Posch scored 8, Mya Thompson 7, Libby Jackson 5, Azariah Dawes 4, Aliyah Green 3 and Hannah Ames and Aiyanna Green with 2 points each.
The Shawnee Mission North Bison were led by Baylee Doolin with 11 points and Lidia Mojica with 7.
Hutchinson (9-1) will now play Wichita South (8-2) in semi-final action at 5:30 pm on Friday. Wichita South defeated Shawnee Heights 31-28 on Thursday.
