Hayden Bret Cook, 27, of Hutchinson, passed away July 19, 2021, in his home. He was born December 12, 1993, in Hutchinson, to Darran and Susan (Bird) Cook.
Hayden graduated from Buhler High School in 2012 and then attended Hutchinson Community College. He was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, in Hutchinson. Hayden played football for Buhler and continued to be involved with the program after high school by taking stats at the games. He loved sports and was passionate about his teams, including: the Chiefs, Jayhawks, Royals, Blue Dragons, and Buhler Crusaders. Hayden also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and his dog, Lucy.
He is survived by: parents, Darran and Susan Cook, Hutchinson; brother, Harrison Cook, Wichita; sister, Sydney Cook, Hutchinson; grandparents, Daniel and Beth Bird, Hutchinson; aunts and uncles, Doug and Andrea Bird, Wichita, Randy and Julie Cook, Andale; great-aunts and uncles, Margie and Scottie Young, Hutchinson, Donny and Sharon Bird, Lawrence, Dee and Amy Bird, Castle Rock, Colorado, Debbie and Bruce Downs, Cave Creek, Arizona, Jimmy Bird, Lawrence, Jean Crewson, Apple Valley, Minnesota, Steve and Mary Dechant, London, England; and many cousins.
Hayden was preceded in death by his grandparents, Valeria Cook and Richard Cook.
Parish rosary will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021, and eulogy and sharing at 10:20 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., all at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in North Inman Cemetery, Inman. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
