HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Public Works Street Division will begin repair work at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Monroe Street on Monday, May 12.

The project will require the closure of the southbound and westbound lanes at the intersection. A “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” sign will be posted at 56th Avenue and Monroe Street to prevent southbound through traffic. However, local access will be maintained for residents north of 43rd along Monroe.

Drivers are asked to follow posted signage and exercise caution while traveling through the area during construction.

 <li>Southbound traffic will be detoured east on 56th Avenue to Plum Street, then south on Plum to 43rd Avenue, and west on 43rd back to Monroe.
</li><li>Westbound traffic will be detoured south on Monroe to Coronado Drive, west on Coronado to Quivira Drive, and north on Quivira back to Monroe.
</li>
 </ul>Drivers are asked to follow posted signage and exercise caution while traveling through the area during construction.
