HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas Cannons scored four runs in the top half of the fourth inning Thursday to stop the Hutchinson Monarchs nine-game winning streak, 5-3.

The Monarchs out-hit the Cannons on the night and cut the lead to two with three consecutive hits in the bottom of the the fifth when Blake Bradford knocked in Jaden Gustafson and Will Edmunson both singled with one-out in the inning.

The Monarchs pitching gave up nine walks which led to two runs scored for the Cannons.

The Cannons Ruger Bravo earned the win going seven innings on the mound. Rod Whaley came on in relief only giving up one hit over the last two inning. Ian Regal took the loss for the Monarchs.

Hutchinson's lead in the Jayhawk League now is two games over the Cannons in the second half standings with two more games set for Friday and Saturday night against the Kingman Islanders.
