HAYSVILLE, Kan.—

HAYSVILLE, Kan.-The Hutchinson Monarchs scored three unanswered runs, including the game-winning tally in the 12th inning to win 5-4 over the Haysville Aviators last night (June 30) at Plagens-Carpenter Park.
The winning run occurred when Joey Baran led off the 12th with a walk and came around to score on an error.
Haysville had taken a 4-2 lead on a two-run homer by Ryan Henderson in the bottom of the sixth, but Jimmy Blumberg answered for Hutchinson with a two-run single in the seventh to tie the game again.
The Monarchs made the most of their five hits, while the Aviators had five players record at least two hits on the night.
Reed Scott finished the game with three scoreless innings to earn the win for the Monarchs. Arturo Ramirez started for the Aviators and struck out 10 while scattering four runs over 6.2 innings.
Hutchinson (16-5) will now host Haysville (12-10) tonight (July 1) starting at 7 pm at Hobart-Detter Field.
