Nancy Elizabeth Sawaya, 57, passed away June 6, 2021, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born June 17, 1963, in Phoenix, AZ. Her parents were Clifford and Darlene (Buggeln) Leitzel.
Nancy was a 1981 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She was employed by Dillons for 25 years.
On March 27, 1981, Nancy married Chris Sawaya, at his cousin’s home, in Hutchinson. They shared over 40 years of marriage.
She is survived by: husband, Chris Sawaya of Hutchinson; daughters, Larissa (Ben Eisiminger) Sawaya of Lawrence, and Elizabeth Sawaya of Topeka; granddaughters, Olive and Mary Eisiminger; sister, Terri (John) Leroy; brothers, Robert Snider, John Snider, and Charles Boyer; and mother-in-law, Patricia Sawaya.
Nancy was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Curtis Farmer; and father-in-law, Norman Sawaya.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Matthew Leroy, M.D. officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
