⚾️ RoughRiders take series finale over Wind Surge

FRISCO, Texas — Graham Brown had three hits and drove in three runs, but the Wichita Wind Surge fell 12-8 to the Frisco RoughRiders on Sunday night at Riders Field.

Despite the loss, Wichita won five of six games in the series. The Wind Surge dropped to 25-26, while Frisco improved to 25-26.

Brown gave Wichita an early lead with a three-run home run in the second inning. His second homer of the season put the Wind Surge ahead 3-1 and highlighted his first multi-hit game at the Double-A level. Brown finished with a career-high three hits.

Wichita extended its lead to 4-1 in the third before Frisco scored three runs in the bottom half to tie the game.

The RoughRiders took a 6-4 lead with two runs in the fourth, but Wichita answered with two runs in the sixth to pull even at 6-6.

Frisco quickly regained control, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run and two RBI doubles. The RoughRiders added three more runs in the eighth to build a 12-6 advantage.

Caden Kendle hit his ninth home run of the season in the ninth inning, giving him homers in back-to-back games, but Wichita could not complete the comeback.

Brandon Winokur and Jaime Ferrer each had multi-hit games for the Wind Surge. Winokur extended his on-base streak to 21 games, while Jake Rucker pushed his on-base streak to 23 games.

Spencer Bengard worked a scoreless relief appearance, his 12th of the season.
