BUHLER, Kan. — The Buhler School District has always relied on Hutchinson USD 308 to provide summer lunches.
With the pandemic, the district sought out and was successful in securing funding for its own program that ran from the last few weeks of school until Aug. 14. The program was successful.
According to Kay Cook with USD 313, the district served 10,302 breakfasts during the period and 10,547 lunches.
The district also says it will be providing meals for students attending class remotely this year. Meals will be available for pick up at both Union Valley Elementary and Buhler High School. A sign-up sheet is available and will run week to week. Meals will be the same as those provided to in-person students.
Pick-up times will be from 10:50 a.m. until 11:10 a.m. at Union Valley and 11:15 a.m. until 11:40 a.m. at Buhler High School.
