Katie Yoder, 100, of Hutchinson, passed away February 1, 2022, at her home. She was born July 29, 1921, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Samuel S. and Nettie (Miller) Beachy.
She was a homemaker. Katie accepted Christ in her youth and was baptized in the Amish Church. She remained faithful during her life. Katie enjoyed gardening and birds. She had a friendly smile and welcomed everyone.
Survivors include her children; MaryEllen (Mervin) Keim of Axtell, Lorene (Floyd) Keim of Garnett; Barbara Ann (Gary) Bontrager of Hutchinson; Nettie Irene (Aden) Keim of Haven; Verna (Daniel) Hershberger of Hutchinson; Roman (Kathleen) Yoder of Hutchinson and Dorothy Fisher of Hutchinson; 36 grandchildren; 125 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Susie Beachy and Wilma Beachy; and brother-in-law Willis Miller, all of Hutchinson.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Abe; son-in-law, Sylvan Fisher; grandson, Joseph Keim; great-grandson, Benjamin Miller; three sisters, Sadie Nisly, Susie Miller and Verna Schrock; and seven brothers, Melvin Beachy, Eli Beachy, Alvin Beachy, Roman Beachy, Harley Beachy, Leslie Beachy and Samuel Beachy, Jr
Family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Amish Community Building, 5917 W. Mills Ave., Hutchinson, KS. 67501. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Amish Community Building. Burial will follow at the Amish Community Cemetery.
