
CHENEY, Kan. — Buhler and McPherson qualified for the Class 4A boys state golf tournament Tuesday with top-three team finishes at the Cherry Oaks sub-state tournament.
Andale won the team title with a 312, while Buhler finished second with a 325 and McPherson placed third with a 329. Rose Hill was fourth at 366, followed by Mulvane at 391, Hugoton at 393, Pratt at 400, Ulysses at 402 and Clearwater at 413.
Andale’s Brooks Dyer won the individual championship with a 1-over-par 73. Buhler’s Zach Chance led the Crusaders with a runner-up finish at 77, while teammate Jace Horning placed fourth with a 79.
McPherson was led by Cole Cooper, who tied for fifth with an 80. Hudson Krehbiel tied for eighth with an 82, and Paxton Ingels tied for 10th with an 83.
Buhler’s other scores included Ben Gazaway at 84, Nick Chance at 85, Carson Thibault at 87 and Isaiah Heredia at 91.
McPherson also had Hunter Vogelsberg shoot 84, Zane Sporleder 92 and Drake Timson 98.
Pratt’s Beau Ferrell qualified for state individually after tying for 10th with an 83. Teammates Drake Riffey shot 100, Teagan Richardson 108, Berkley Blasi 109 and Blake Blasi 129.
