STERLING FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Sterling Fire Department has received a $13,600 grant from the Rice County Community Foundation for the 2025 grant cycle.
The funding will be used to purchase two thermal imaging cameras, which will be installed on a city fire engine and a county fire engine based out of the Sterling Fire Station.
The new equipment will enhance firefighter safety and efficiency during operations by allowing crews to see through smoke-filled environments, locate victims during search-and-rescue missions, and identify heat sources in hazardous materials situations.
