The Road and Bridge Department's hot mix asphalt overlay program for 2026 is scheduled to start next week. The overlay includes two sections of West Dutch Avenue.
One stretch of Dutch is from North Woodberry Road to North River Park Road, which is west of Hesston. The other is Dutch from Leonard Court to North K-15 Highway, which is east of Hesston.
The roadways will remain open to traffic during the overlay, but expect delays. Please be patient and pay attention to the road to make for a safe working environment for the road crews. Traffic will be controlled and directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Residents along the routes will still have access to their properties.
The overlay program is being completed by Pearson Construction. It is anticipated to be finished in the next few weeks, contingent on weather.
