HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Fire crews quickly extinguished a fire in a bedroom Monday morning.
According to a release from the Hutchinson Fire Department, crews were called out at 4:38 a.m. to 541 East Avenue C for a reported structure fire.
When they got there, fire was venting from a bedroom window on the east side of the single-story house.
One adult and one child got out safely thanks to working smoke detectors. Fire crews were able to keep the fire down to the single bedroom. Smoke damage was noted throughout the house.
The fire is still being investigated.

Hutchinson Fire crews are working early Monday.
According to a social media post just after 5 a.m., the department is on scene of a working house fire in the 500 block of East Ave. C and all crews are working.
