GREAT BEND — The Hutchinson Monarchs won Monday 6-2 over the Great Bend Bat Cats at Al Burns Field in Great Bend.
Jon Jenkins homered in the third inning as part of a three run rally.
Will Maynard was the winner on the mound. The lefthander lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.
Brett Wiemers and Braden Davis entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Monarchs, now 13-5, are back at Hobart-Detter tonight against the Bat Cats. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
