Maida M. Laughlin, 87 of Canton, died August 5, 2021 at Via Christi Ascension St. Francis, Wichita. She was a retired school teacher for Canton-Galva USD #419 and a lifelong Canton area resident.
She was born October 23, 1933 in Canton, the daughter of Charlie and May (Harman) Tinsley. On December 18, 1960 she was united in marriage to Thomas Laughlin in Canton. They were the parents of two children, Penny and Chuck. Tom preceded her in death on January 20, 2008.
Maida was a faithful member of the Canton United Methodist Church, Dizzy Dames EHU, Farm Bureau and was a former 4-H leader and member of the Grange.
Survivors include her children, Penny Chapman and husband, Tod and Chuck Laughlin, all of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Galen Tinsley and wife Delaine, Canton; her grandchildren, Brooks and Regan Chapman, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A brother, Alvin Tinsley and a sister, Bonnie Tinsley Russell preceded her in death.
Services are pending and will be announced later by Olson's Mortuary, Canton.
