HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It's just about time for the YMCA summer swim season to start.
"Starting on June 1, we will be outside at the Salt City Splash," said head coach Sarah Johnson. "We swim in the mornings there. It's a 50-meter pool, so it's actually longer than the Y. We just get kids in the water and have fun and learn the sport."
Kids can start swimming on the team once they can make it across the pool.
"We actually have several swimmers that have started when they were five," Johnson said. "We have a couple that are six and seven, but we go all the way up to, we have some college kids that come back and swim with us in the summer."
