Ava Jane Campbell, 89, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at Mt. Hope Nursing Home, Mt. Hope, KS. Ava was born July 7, 1931 in Eldorado, KS, the daughter of Theodore J and Lucy E. (Barnes) McAlister.
In 1949, she graduated from Hutchinson High School and later received her Associates Degree from Hutchinson Community College. On June 7, 1977 she married Thomas J. Campbell in Enid, OK. To this union six children, Darrell, Doug, Beth, David, Julie and Dean.
Ava worked in purchasing and sales for over 20 years.
Ava is survived by her children, Darrell (Linda) Miller, Doug (Heather) Miller, Beth Miller (Les Wright), David (Deb) Miller, Julie (Scott) Welch, and Dean (Joan) Miller; three sisters, Georgia Maxwell, Judy Trimmell, and Kathy Maxwell; one brothers, Roy McAlister; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by his parents, her husband, Thomas; and a brother Jim McAlister.
A Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to Phoenix Hospice or Mt. Hope Nursing Home and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS. 67502.
