CHARLOTTE, NC — The Hutchinson Community College football team opens the 2024 season ranked No. 3 in the nation, the NJCAA announced Monday.
The Blue Dragons host New Mexico Military Institute on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. at Gowans Stadium.
Iowa Western, the week two opponent for HutchCC opens the season with the No. 1 ranking. The Reivers are the defending national champions.
East Mississippi, who defeated the Blue Dragons in the national semifinal game last December, is No. 2.
The Blue Dragons will face four of the teams in the preseason poll during the regular season. No. 1 Iowa Western, No. 8 Iowa Central, No. 9 Garden City and No. 15 Butler.
Dodge City, Highland and New Mexico Military are all Blue Dragon opponents and are receiving votes in the poll.
