HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Another opponent has filed in the Republican primary for the House District 101 race to oppose Pretty Prairie incumbent Joe Seiwert.

According to the Kansas Secretary of State's website, former Goddard mayor Jamey Blubaugh has filed for the seat. He was the mayor prior to fellow candidate Hunter Larkin.

Both men have resigned the Goddard mayor's position, Blubaugh following allegations of counterfeiting 2019 Zoobilee tickets and Larkin earlier this month after a Wichita Eagle columnist accused him of improper relationships with city vendors regarding contributions to his statehouse campaign.

Seiwert has faced Blubaugh and won before in 2012. That also was a three-way primary. Seiwert has served since 2008.
