Freshman Isabela Puccinelli and sophomore Beatrice Sales had three-point games to lead a dominant performance by the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team on Wednesday at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

The Blue Dragons posted their fifth shutout of the season and completed a regular-season sweep of Coffeyville in a 4-0 victory Jayhawk Conference victory over the Red Ravens.

Hutchinson is now 7-2-2 overall and 4-2-2 (14 points) in the KJCCC. The Blue Dragons will complete a suspended game with Dodge City at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Salthawk Soccer Complex. The Blue Dragons led that game 3-1 with 10:19 remaining in the first half when the game was suspended. Coffeyville fell to 2-11-1 overall and 1-8 (3 points) in the KJCCC.

The Blue Dragons dominated possession and outshot the Red Ravens 40-5, including 20-4 in shots on goal. The Dragons generated 10 corner kicks to Coffeyville's one.

Puccinelli scored a goal and had an assist on the game-winning goal to lead the Blue Dragons. Puccinelli has scored a point in five-straight games.

Salas posted a career high three points with a goal and an assist.

Poppy Smith and Olivia Tamaki both had goals against the Red Ravens. Ava McAninch and Bessie Simpson added assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Rylee Loague (3-0) posted her third shutout of the season and had a season-high four saves.

The Blue Dragons led 2-0 just 9:02 into Wednesday's game with Coffeyville.

Just 3:07 into the game, Puccinelli made a long run down the right sideline and rolled a long pass to the middle where Smith took it and struck a high shot over the head of Coffeyville keeper Macy Lemke and scored her third game-winning goal of the season.

Six minutes later, Hutchinson made it 2-0 when a McAninch corner kick landed right on the foot of Salas, whose first shot was saves by Lemke, but Salas blasted home the rebound with 35:52 left in the first half.

The Blue Dragons didn't score again until the 69th minute. Simpson led Puccinelli down the left sideline. Puccinelli laced a hard shot from an acute angle and it bounced off a Coffeyville defender into the goal for a 3-0 lead with 21:46 remaining.

The Dragons made it 4-0 when Tamaki blistered a shot from 22 yards out with 16:54 to go. Sales was credited with the assist.

GAME NOTES – The 40 shots taken are a season high and is the first time to have 40 shots taken in a game since 46 shots against Hesston College on September 14, 2019. … The Blue Dragons are 21-5 all-time against Coffeyville with seven-straight wins against the Red Ravens. … The Dragons have 14 shutouts against Coffeyville and posted their 194th shutout in program history.
