Donald Rex McMurray was born December 7, 1948 in McPherson, the son of Glenn E. and Virginia Lee (West) McMurray.
He grew up in Canton, Kansas with his sister, Wendy and was a graduate of Canton High School and McPherson College. Don had been a resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for many years and was a retired salesman. He was an accomplished vocalist and had been a member of the Canton United Methodist Church. His two nieces, Jami and Jill, were the light of his life. Don entered into eternal rest on Friday afternoon, September 18, 2020 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee following an extended illness. He will be missed greatly by his family and dear friends.
Survivors include his sister, Wendy Brotton and her husband Kim of Canton; his nieces, Jami North and husband Adam and their daughter, Anna of Galva and Jill Lee and husband Matt and their son, Jake of Overland Park; two brothers, Jan (Martha) Wilson, Huntsville, Texas and Hal (Julie) Wilson, McPherson; a sister-in-law, Jo Ellen Wilson, Lyons; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Goldie McMurray and Virginia Lee and Jim Doane; his brother, Kim Wilson and his girlfriend, Mary Wishmon.
Services are pending. Inurnment will be in Canton Township Cemetery at a later date. Olson's Mortuary, Canton is in charge of arrangements.
