Hutchinson CC Sports Information
Following a huge conference-opening win over Garden City on Saturday, the No. 2-ranked Hutchinson Community College football team earned 2 of the 3 Jayhawk Conference Weekly honors on Tuesday.
Running Back JB Price was named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week. Kicker Parker Grizzell earn Special Teams Player of the Week. This is the fifth and sixth weekly awards garnered by Blue Dragon players through four weeks of the season.
rushed for career highs of 192 yards and three touchdowns as Hutchinson defeated Garden City 70-0 at Gowans Stadium.
Price rushed 15 times for 192 yards, averaging 12.8 yards per carry. He had touchdown runs of 33, 3 and 13 yards as Hutchinson rushed for 415 yards against the Busters.
Price's long run was 48 yards. Price also had one reception for no gain. This was the most yards by a Blue Dragon running back in two seasons.
He is the third Blue Dragon player to earn Jayhawk Offensive Player of the Week honors.
For the second time this season, Grizzell kicked 10 PATs in a single game
Two weeks ago, Grizzell tied a Blue Dragon single-game scoring record for kickers with 16 points, kicking 10 extra points and two field goals against Ellsworth.
Against Garden City, Grizzell hit all 10 PAT tries and had 11 kickoffs.
The Blue Dragons travel to play No. 12 Butler on Saturday in El Dorado.
