HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County Commission will meet on Tuesday with a new member in place.
State Senator-elect Mark Steffen will serve the unexpired term of the late Bob Bush after his appointment by Reno County Republicans. Steffen will then move onto the state senate in January and will be replaced by Daniel Friesen. Friesen won the seat last Tuesday.
The light agenda includes the appointment of a Vice Chair to the Board since Bush held that position. The Board will also take action on finding a replacement for Chair Ron Sellers to be the Commissioner’s representative during the canvass of votes November 12.
Finally the Board will take action on a request for two new fire trucks for Rural Fire District nine at a cost of $173,359, and get the latest update on the pandemic.
Tuesday’s meeting of the Reno County Commission begins at 9 a.m. at the Reno County Courthouse.
