WYANDOTTE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 10:30p.m. Sunday in Wyandotte County.
The Kansas Highway reported a 2013 Kia Sorento driven by Lance Elmon Owens, Jr., 28, Kansas City, Kan., was northbound on Interstate 635 just south of Metropolitan.
The SUV traveled off the right side of the roadway into the ditch and overturned. The driver was ejected out of the windshield, landed on the right shoulder and slid into lane three.
Owens was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
