One person hurt in Tuesday evening accident

RENO COUNTY — One person was taken from the scene of an accident between a motorcycle and another vehicle Tuesday night east of Hutchinson.

According to the Reno County Sheriff's Office, around 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to the intersection of East 4th and North Mayfield Road.

Twenty-five-year-old Jeremiah Hayden was riding northbound on his motorcycle on Mayfield when he failed to yield at the stop sign at 4th and struck the driver's side of a vehicle driven by 62-year-old Sherry Bosley. Hayden was thrown from the motorcycle and Bosley's vehicle was pushed partially off the roadway to the north. Bosley tried to get back on the road and overcorrected and began sliding sideways to the south entered the ditch and came to rest against a metal fence on the south side of 4th. Bosley was trapped because the driver's door was jammed.

Hayden was taken to Hutchinson Regional to be checked out. Bosley refused treatment at the scene. Hayden did not have a helmet on. Bosley was buckled up. Airbags did not deploy.
