Blue Dragon freshman&nbsp;<a href="https://bluedragonsports.com/sports/wtrack/2025-26/bios/beale_xylavene_h8ad">Xylavene Beale</a>&nbsp;broke two new Hutchinson Community College indoor track &amp; field records at Wichita State's Coach Wilson Invitational last weekend and was tabbed the NJCAA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Beale, a freshman from Australia, won both events at Wichita State, setting a mark of 58 feet, 5 inches (17.81 meters) in the weight throw Friday, Jan. 30 and followed that with a second record-breaking Blue Dragon record in the shot put with a winning throw of 50 feet 6 ¾ inches (15.41 meters).

Beale currently ranks No. 1 in the NJCAA in both events.

Beale is also now a two-time Jayhawk Conference women's field athlete of the week, winning her second straight honor this week.

Beale has already qualified for the 2026 NJCAA indoor championships in both the weight throw and shot put.

The Blue Dragon track and field teams compete at the Ichabod Open next Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14 in Topeka.
