⛳ Hutchinson places second at Salina Central Invitational

SALINA, Kan. — Hutchinson turned in one of its strongest performances of the season Monday, placing second at the Salina Central Invitational at Salina Municipal Golf Course.

Seaman won the 13-team event with a 314, while the Salthawks finished runner-up at 321, seven strokes off the pace and nine clear of third-place Salina Central at 330. Liberal was fourth at 335, followed by Topeka at 339.

Hutchinson placed four golfers in the top 16 individually, led by Alex Haas, who tied for fourth overall with a 6-over-par 76 on the par-70 course. Tate England added a 79 to tie for ninth, while Landyn Powell and Maks Dreiling each shot 83 to tie for 15th.

Kale Drieling carded a 100 and Teagan England shot 105 for the Salthawks.

Chase Hastert of Topeka and Kale Miller of Liberal shared medalist honors at 75, while Seaman’s Evan Michalski was third at 76.

Newton finished eighth in the team standings with a 355. Rocco Ramos paced the Railers with a 79, tying for ninth overall. Mason Alexander added a 91, Remington Burke shot 92, and Jackson Morton finished at 93 to round out Newton’s team score.

Salina Central took third behind Grant Ostmeyer’s 77 and Thomas Payne’s 78, while Seaman’s balanced lineup featured four golfers in the top 21.
