F. Warren Sturgeon |1940-2021|

F. Warren Sturgeon, 80, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham. He was born September 18, 1940 in Larned to Frank and Sylvia (King) Sturgeon. Warren married Phyllis (Keller) Sturgeon on October 8, 1961 in Sun City. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2020.

Warren attended Greensburg High School. He worked as a cowboy at Robins Ranch where he met Phyllis. He moved to Spearman, Texas where he was an over the road truck driver, pumped oil wells and worked ground crew at Sparks Brothers Aviation. He learned to fly and got his commercial license and started doing cropdusting on Government contracts in Alabama and Canada. He then moved to Haviland and owned and operated Farmers Spraying Service Inc. since in 1976. He was a member of Greensburg Christian Church, Masonic Lodge 32nd Degree, Scottish Rites in Blue Lodge, BPOE Elks Lodge, Legion Member, Kansas Agricultural Aviation Association and the National Agricultural Aviation Association. He loved his business and working, family, fishing, talking and visiting, drinking coffee, RV roadtrips with Phyllis, going to the dunes and riding 4-wheelers and RZRs, historical trips, and reading and studying the Bible. He was always a very loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Tony (Michelle) Sturgeon of Haviland; grandsons, Tyson (Traci) Sturgeon of Pratt, Thomas Sturgeon of Pratt and Benjamin Sturgeon of Haviland.

Warren is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis L. Sturgeon; son, Frank "Butch" Orgal Sturgeon; and sisters, Francis Pond and Corinne Clift.

Visitation will be Monday, June 14, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Larrison Mortuary. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, Sun City.

Memorials may be made to Hilltop Manor or Greensburg Christian Church in care of Larrison Mortuary.
