Francis “Marion” Oller was born July 31, 1933 in his childhood home to Roy and Thelma Oller in Duquoin, KS. and died Oct. 19, 2021.
Marion married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Verna Maxine Cox on June 1, 1952. Together they had 4 children. He led his family in faith at the Kingman United Methodist Church where he and Verna embraced Christ for more than 50 years. Marion believed in always giving an honest day’s work and he did so by making a living in farming, the oil fields, aircraft, and as a local Kingman business owner until he retired in 1999. Marion was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, football, tinkering, repairing and paying the light bill at the local coffee shops where he met his friends daily. Most of all, he enjoyed the years he spent following his grandchildren through sports.
Marion is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Thelma Oller, Son-In-Law Steve Riley, and brothers Leland “Brig” Oller, and Robert “Bob” Oller.
Marion is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Verna Oller, daughter Marilyn Riley, son David Oller and wife Gayle, daughter Patricia Zerger and husband Paul, and son Brad Oller and wife Linda. He is survived by grandchildren Jennifer Garcia and husband Homero, Jeremy Riley, Jamison O’Riley, Julie Riley, Dustin Oller and wife Marcea, Mindie Schrag and husband Ashley, Nicholas Zerger, Brianna Zerger, Kara Casad and husband Daniel, and Joshua Oller and wife Jessica. In addition, his life was blessed with the love of 20 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Livingston Funeral Home in Kingman. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10:00am at the Kingman United Methodist Church. Following the funeral service, Marion will be laid to rest in the Duquoin Cemetery in Duquoin.
