Man wanted on federal warrant captured in NW Kansas

ROOKS COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect wanted on federal charges after a traffic stop in northwest Kansas. 

Just after 10:30 p.m. May 6, police conducted a traffic stop on North Washington Street in Plainville, according to a social media report Wednesday.  A K-9 officer and K-9 conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.

They located Marijuana, THC Wax and drug Paraphernalia  along with over $5,500 in cash.  It was also discovered that the 69-year-old driver identified as William Dean Thompson had a federal warrant out of the state of Washington.

Officers arrested Thompson on requested charges that include drug possession with the intent to distribute and related drug charges. He is currently being held at the Rooks County Jail.
