HARVEY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 3p.m. Thursday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by Robert Edward Benson, 56, Kansas City, MO., was actively fleeing from Newton Police southbound on Plum Street from 12th Street.
The driver lost control of the car. It rolled onto the left side, struck 2 trees and came to a rest on its wheels.
EMS transported Benson to Newton Medical Center. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP. Authorities did not report what prompted the chase.
