
MCPHERSON COUNTY —Authorities are investigation the cause of a fire to a car dealership in McPherson.
The occurred early Wednesday at Midway Motors, 2075 East Kansas Avenue.
Upon arrival, crews found a commercial structure with smoke showing and flames coming from the roof. The fire was brought under control and extinguished.
On their social media page, the dealership wrote. "Not how we hoped to start our day, but the Ford and Chrysler store had a fire and will be closed until further notice. Everyone is safe."
"The GM store is fully open and operational. We appreciate all the support already pouring in from the community and the quick help from the fire department early this morning."
"Phones are working and we are actively working to contact customers and will continue work out of the GM store. We’ll do everything possible to still get customers taken care of through the Chevy/GMC store or with help from our other Midway stores." There were no injuries reported.
A total of 36 fire personnel from the four departments responded to the incident. Apparatus on scene included five engines, one ladder truck, four attack trucks, one tender, and four chief vehicles.
