MCPHERSON COUNTY—A McPherson County man lost an expensive piece of equipment on Monday.
Just after 11:30a.m. Monday, sheriff's deputies responded to report of a UTV on fire in the 12,000 Block of of S Cooley Road, according to Saline County Sheriff's Operations Captain Jim Hughes. Deputies arrived and found McPherson County Rural Fire District #2 on scene and the fire extinguished.
Heath Patrick, 38, Marquette, advised he was working fence in the area and while he was away from the 2022 Kawasaki Mule Pro 100 UTV, it caught fire. The loss is estimated to be approximately $20,000. There were no injuries. The cause is undetermined and not suspicious.
