Monarchs bats stay hot; Ground the Haysville Aviators 12-3

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Hutchinson Monarchs (6-0) pounded out 16 hits and drove in 12 runs to defeat the Haysville Aviators (1-9) at Hobart-Detter field on Thursday night.

Every Monarch that played garnered a hit with Koby Ketcher going 2 for 4 and 5 RBI's.  Drew Reetz drove in 5 runs with 3 for 5 hitting including 2 home runs.  Easton Rindt also was 3 for 5 with a RBI.

The Monarchs big innings were the 3rd with 4 runs scored to take a 6-2 lead.  Hutch also had a big 8th when they scored 3 runs. 

Matt Hopkins picked up the win for the Monarchs giving up 5 hits and 2 runs over 4 innings pitched.  The Aviators starter Andrew Baugh took the loss in 2.2 innings pitched giving up 6 runs on 7 Monarch hits.

Next action for the Monarchs will be tonight with the 2nd game of the 4 game series set to begin at 7 pm at Hobart-Detter field.  That game will be video streamed live at hutchpost.com.
