LYONS, Kan (Rice County Sheriff's Office) — The Rice County Sheriff’s Office has announced that Mike Miles has joined the office as the new undersheriff.
Miles has dedicated his life to serving his country and local communities. After graduating from Lyons High School, he served 6 years in the United States Air Force in military law enforcement.
Miles’ civilian law enforcement career spans nearly a decade, including roles as a City Police Officer, Linn County Deputy, and K9 handler with the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office. Most recently, he served as a School Resource Officer, driven by his belief in positively impacting the younger generation.
A firm constitutionalist, Miles is also a firearms Instructor, teaching responsible and safe firearms ownership and the legalities that come with being a responsibly armed citizen. He is passionate about defending citizens' rights and making our community safer.
Miles is excited to return to Rice County, reconnect with friends and family, and serve our community with professionalism, fairness, and courtesy.
