Roy D. Harris, 99, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Pratt Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 30, 1921 on his family farm east of Coats to Frank and Mabel (Landon) Harris. Roy married Edna (Boese) Harris on July 17, 1949. They were married for 71 years.

Roy graduated from Coats High School in 1939. He joined the United States Army Air Corps in July 1942. He was a proud World War II Veteran, who served as a Flight Instructor, who loved to fly, in Altus and Enid, Oklahoma. He worked as a farmer and was a rural letter carrier. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and formerly a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed spending time farming, riding the tractor and driving around, fishing, deer hunting, traveling, doing genealogy, attending his grandsons activities and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; daughter, Carla Harris; son, Roger W. (Barb) Harris all of Pratt; grandsons, Andrew (Katie) Harris of Rogers, Arkansas and Paul (Andrea) Harris of Manhattan; and great grandchildren, Lucas, Samuel, Margaret, Peter, and Lucy Harris.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Louis Harris; and sisters, Mildred Sanderson and Margaret Jean Releford.

Visitation will be Monday, July 5, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Larrison Mortuary with John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow at Coats Cemetery, Coats.
