WICHITA, Kan. β For the first time in seven years, the Wichita State volleyball team will compete in the NCAA Tournament. The Shockers beat Florida Atlantic in the American Athletic Conference championship inside of Charles Koch Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Shockers swept the Owls, 25-22, 25-19, 25-19 to claim the title.
Nickerson High School alum, Morgan Stout was named the AAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player. The redshirt senior finished with 12 kills in the championship match, and 35 for the tournament. She also finished with eight blocks in the three matches.
The Shockers are now 18-13 overall and await their seed for the NCAA Tournament, which begins Thursday, Dec. 5. The selection show is Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. CST.
