The weekly Drought Monitor was released on Thursday morning.
This week some improvement was made in the high Plains, but mostly in northern Kansas, northern Nebraska and South Dakota where the 60-90 day precipitation is normal to above normal.
Here in central Kansas, the drought monitor shows an area of moderate drought that reaches into southwest Kansas. Some areas along the state line, from Gray to Cowley County are in a zone of Severe Drought.

Portions of eastern Kansas, mainly east of the Kansas Turnpike have decreased from Moderate Drought to Abnormally dry.
