HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Police reported Monday in a release that they made it a priority in 2021 to focus on sex offenses as well as human trafficking.
"These predators focus on both adults and children," the department said.
The department said in 2021 they have made four arrests for electronic solicitation, believing the child to be 14-15 years old, three arrests for indecent solicitation of a child and ten arrests for buying sexual relations.
"Social media and the internet are commonly used for targeting victims," the department said.
The department asked parents to make sure they are talking with children about the people they are communicating with on social media, also they asked that parents be vigilant in checking children's social media and internet usage.
